PSHE

PSHE is a crucial aspect of our Personal Development curriculum.

In Years 7, 8 and 11 students have one timetabled lesson per fortnight, along with one form time, assemblies and some extended registration mornings.

In Year 9 and 10 students have a dedicated form time and assemblies time along with extended registration periods throughout the year. Additionally, some aspects of the PSHE curriculum are delivered through Citizenship lessons in the summer term.

We use a thematic curriculum which focuses on one of the following three topics each half term, these topics are explored in more depth each year with different age appropriate material :

  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Relationships
  • Living in the wider world

Through the PSHE curriculum we cover statutory Relationship and Sex Education, the policy for which can be found below. This includes curriculum information explaining what we teach for this topic and when this takes place.
