Year 7 and 8

YEAR 7 TAUGHT CURRICULUM

In Year 7 the taught careers curriculum will focus on:

  • Unifrog: introduction to unifrog, how to use the careers library, setting goals, working out interests and strengths

 

YEAR 8 TAUGHT CURRICULUM

In Year 8 the taught careers curriculum will focus on:

  • Unifrog: skills audits and tracking, more specific work on potential careers linked to subjects

YEAR 8 CHOICES

In the Spring term students in Year 8 will look at which choices they will make regarding their Year 9 curriculum. Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet with subject staff to help inform choices, along with a parents' information evening.

All students in Year 9 will study Key Stage 3 English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, RE, PE, PSHE and either French or Spanish, 

Students will select one creative choice from: Computing, Technology, Art, Music, Drama, Dance, Media

Students will select two more choices from both the creative list and the other subjects: Business, Sport, Health and Social Care, Child Development  

 

LABOUR MARKET INFORMATION (LMI)

Labour Marker Information gives us information about what is happening in the labour market. It can show us which industries and careers are in decline or on the increase. It can also provide information such as how many jobs are available in the local area and what opportunities may be out there for you.
