Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award Commendations
Mr Gee had the pleasure of presenting 30 Year 11 students with their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award certificates. Each student should be very proud of their achievement in gaining their Award. To achieve this award, each student had to spend time volunteering, participating in a physical activity and a skill, in addition to completing an expedition within Essex or the New Forest where they had to walk, camp, cook and navigate to their destination each day.
The students all came together as a team and worked hard during their expedition. As leaders, we noticed a major lift in their self-confidence after the lockdown period. Many of these students have now progressed to their Silver Award.
There are a small number of students who have completed their Skill, Physical and Volunteering sections of the Bronze Award but are yet to complete their expedition. We would encourage these students to complete the expedition to enable them to receive their Awards. Registration for the expedition lasts up to the age of 25.
Employers and Further Education establishments look favourably upon applications from students who have completed the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
