Curriculum

At The Helena Romanes School and Sixth Form Centre we seek to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which promotes the intellectual, cultural, moral, spiritual and physical development of students and prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experience of adult life.

The intent of the Helena Romanes School curriculum is synonymous with many of the Academy’s core aims:

To provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is accessible to all students, particularly disadvantaged students and students with SEND, which ensures they accumulate sufficient skills and knowledge to achieve their aspirations. It will provide opportunities for all students to develop high levels of literacy and numeracy required for success in adult life and broaden students’ horizons through a range of spiritual, moral, social and cultural opportunities. Through our whole school curriculum, students will learn to thrive and develop as healthy individuals and understand how to stay safe. Curricular and extra curricular opportunities will develop students’ strength of character, and resilience that will help them to overcome the challenges they are likely to encounter in adult life as well as succeeding in the next stage in their education, training or employment.
