News from the Learning Zone

This week, we have very kindly been donated a set of the first four books in the Vampire Diaries which some of our Year 8 students wanted to read, we are very grateful for this support.  These are now available to be borrowed from the Learning Zone.

We have also taken delivery of the 2021 Carnegie Children’s Book Awards shortlisted books and we are looking forward to sharing these with students over the next few weeks. Further information can be found here https://carnegiegreenaway.org.uk/cilip-carnegie-medal-shortlist-2021/

Year 7 & 8 Inter-form

Over the last term Year 7 and 8 have been participating in basketball, hockey, netball and rugby activities as part of their Core Physical Education Curriculum. From Thursday 20th May both year groups will be involved in an inter-form competition involving all four sports.

Each form group will decide their squads for each sport and compete against other forms in their half of the year.

Points will be awarded to each team and then added together for each sport to give an overall total for each form.

All students will be involved as players, supporters, coaches and referees and will need their normal PE kit for their lessons as usual.

Please may we remind students to bring in a rugby/hockey shirt to wear over their white PE top if the weather is cold.

Once again thank you for your support
