Sixth Form Virtual Open Evening
A reminder to Year 11 parents and carers that the sixth form open evening “virtual event” will be launched on Thursday 26th September.  We will be sending out a link to the appropriate area of the school website for your convenience next week prior to the event.

Children in Need
Thank you to students, staff, parents and carers for your generosity and support last week with the ‘1000 press ups in five-days’ challenge my friend and I set ourselves to raise funds for Children in Need.  So far we have raised over £1,633.
Your generosity is much appreciated.
Mr K Cheema – PE Teacher

Parking
We have received a complaint from a resident regarding cars parked along Thaxted Road, on the grass verges on either side of Parsonage Downs. This is making access to our neighbours’ properties difficult at the end of the school day.  We would be grateful if you would bear this in mind when collecting your child from school. Thank you for your cooperation.

Bookbuzz books have arrived!
We are delighted that Lockdown has not prevented the Bookbuzz books our Year 7 students chose being delivered.

Every Year 7 student has a book to keep. All of the books have an Accelerated Reader quiz so we expect to see lots of quizzing over the next few weeks.
Happy Reading Year 7!

Uttlesford Foodbank Christmas 2020

Physical Education Faculty: Curriculum Update
Please see below the activities your child is involved in this half term for Core Physical Education:

Year group Boys Girls
7 Athletics Athletics
8 Athletics Athletics
9 Football Fitness and Health
10 Football Fitness and health
11 Hockey Netball

On the days your child has PE they should wear their PE kit with their blazer over the top of their PE shirts. As it is getting colder students may also bring their rugby/hockey shirt and wear this over their white polo shirt when in PE lessons, as this provides another layer to warm up in.

Students are expected to sanitize at the start and end of a lesson whether inside or outside the buildings.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for their support so far, and to the students themselves, with the vast majority participating enthusiastically and with vigour in our adapted curriculum in these challenging times.
Ms L Booth – Head of Physical Education Faculty

Thank you.

Year 11 Revision Resources and Mock Content
Thank you all for the positive feedback regarding the revision resources that I sent out last week, I am pleased that they have been of use.  If you missed them they can be found below in the ‘related documents’ section.  Media has also been added as it seemed to have slipped from the list.  Please ensure that students are revising every evening for their mocks as we only have 6 school weeks until they start.  Almost all subjects are being examined.

Also below is one example of how one student has organised their revision timetable week by week.  The student has a tab for each week to ensure that all subjects are covered by their revision.  It is very impressive indeed!  Well done to them and thank you to the parents for their support in this.
Mr N Wilcox – Head of Year 11
