Year 13 A Level Mock Exams
Year 13 students will be sitting A level mock exams between 5-16th October 2020 respectively.  The mock exams will take place within the classroom but under full exam conditions across all subjects.  Historically students would sit these exams at the end of Year 12 prior to transitioning into Year 13; however Covid 19 prevented this from happening.  Within the Sixth Form we are focussing very much on the future rather than reflect on the past events of Year 12 and I would appreciate your support in reinforcing the message of positivity and aspirations post 18.

Biology Week Competitions
As part of Biology Week, we are running two competitions next week; a cell model competition and a wildlife photograph competition.  Further information can be found below.

A photograph of entries to both competitions should initially be submitted by email to slill@hrs.education by Sunday 4th October at the latest.  The subject title of the email should be ‘Biology Week’.  The photos of both competition entries will be judged and shortlisted. The entries will be shortlisted and selected entries will be invited to bring their work into school to be judged and displayed in the finals.

News from the Learning Zone
The annual bunting competition to celebrate Roald Dahl day has been won by 7JHW, congratulations to the students and Mr Woodley.

Mr Gee had a tough time selecting the winner as the standard is, once again, very high. Thank you for making the Learning Zone look amazing.

Congratulations to Dylan in 7ALD and Thomas in 7CP who have won the first Learning Zone competition of the year for correctly finding the number of Wonka Bars hidden in the Learning Zone, their prize will be delivered to their forms.

We are once again delighted to be participating in the Bookbuzz initiative from the Booktrust charity.  Every Year 7 student will be able to choose from a selection of books chosen by Booktrust to keep for themselves.  Over the next week Year 7 students will be choosing their book, we anticipate that the books will be delivered to school shortly after the October half term.

You can see the books the students can choose in the following link:
