News from the Learning Zone
The Learning Zone is resplendent in Bunting created by our Year 7 students for their form competition to celebrate Roald Dahl Day, September 13th. We have food (not for eating, sadly) created by the Learning Zone Team from Roald Dahl’s cookbook and a display of information about the author.
Mr Gee judged the bunting and the winning form 7AJG received a prize in assembly. Thank you to all the form tutors and students for all your hard work.
We have launched the BookBuzz initiative Book Trust with our Year 7 students, every student can choose a book from a selection for the subsidised price of £3, we hope the books will be delivered by the half term break.

Year 8 Update
The Year 8’s have settled well into their new forms and are making a real effort to focus on Learning. The response from the Year 8 Form tutors and teachers has been very positive and all are enthused by the engagement to learning and positive attitude present in all lessons. Thank you for your ongoing support with the changes. I have met with the Form representatives for Student voice and they also reported back an improved learning environment in lesson. This is a very encouraging start to the academic year and I look forward to celebrating your child’s success with you during the year.

For the Attention of Parents/Carers of children with Asthma
Please see the following link for information from the NHS as asthma season begins: https://www.england.nhs.uk/2019/09/nhs-warning-to-parents-as-asthma-season-hits/iss Miss H Ellis – First Aid
Please may we remind parents/carers to label as much of your son/daughter’s uniform and equipment as possible, particularly PE kits including the PE bag, ties, pencil cases and school bags. A black laundry pen to write the surname on these items would be ideal. We had a lot of unnamed lost property last year which could easily have been reunited with its owner if it had been labelled.
