Students had professional school photos taken on Tuesday 4th September; this is the first time we have done this for many years. Proofs will be given to students on Wednesday 12th September to bring home so that you may place an order if you would like.
You can place an order directly using the website details and usernames/password found on the proof. Alternatively you can return the order form to school along with a cheque in the clear plastic envelope containing your proof. It is not advisable to pay by cash as all orders are sent directly to the photographers and are not monitored by the school and change cannot be given.
All orders must be completed by Wednesday 10th October.

We have been made aware that both Trutex and Jacks of Dunmow have currently run out of blue ties and are waiting for more stock to come in. If your son/daughter does not have a tie we have a small quantity for sale in the Learning Zone at a cost of £7.95 payable by cash to the school shop.
Open Morning Student Guides and Helpers

Aprons for Food Lessons
Please may we remind you that students need to bring in their own aprons for food lessons otherwise they will not be allowed to cook. If you have any queries regarding this, please contact me at email@example.com.

The Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to HRS on Wednesday 26th September for 1 week; students will be able to browse the selection during break and lunchtimes. If they wish to purchase a book, they will bring home a slip with the details including the cost for you to approve and pay on ParentPay. Once payment has been received they can collect their choice from the Learning Zone.
This is a brilliant way for the Learning Zone to increase our own book selection using the commission from the Book Fair and to encourage our students to read for pleasure. We hope you will support us.

Further to last week’s information regarding peripatetic music lessons on offer at HRS we are also offering drum lessons. As with all of our music lessons, the costs are: 10 weeks costing £100 for 20 minute lessons and £150 for 30 minute lessons.
Please ask your child to pick up a leaflet from the music department or student reception if they require any further information. Lessons currently offered are guitar/electric guitar, piano, brass, clarinet, saxophone, flute, drums and singing.
For families currently in receipt of free school meals, the school has some provision to be able to help towards the cost of lessons. However, this would need to be assessed on a case by case basis by the finance and music departments and reviewed termly. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if this is relevant to you.
All students were issued with their timetables when they returned to school last week. Please be aware that if students wish to have another timetable printed off from Student Reception, there will be a charge of 5p.
