Twenty three students from HRS have their artwork on display at an exhibition which is being held in Nottingham’s Surface Gallery until 10th February.
The exhibition includes hundreds of original artworks by established and aspiring artists from all over the world and all submissions are included, from paintings and print to textiles and illustration. It’s a popular feature of Nottingham’s annual art calendar and a record number of visitors attended the opening night this year!

A reminder to Year 8 parents who have not yet returned the data collection sheet to please do so as soon as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Mrs Michele Romain – Receptionist/Admin
For a number of years now, the MFL faculty has supported two children through Plan International. Rudi (Spanish) lives in Guatemala and Maguette (French) lives in Senegal.
Each February the Year 7 students complete a sponsored spell in their two languages to help raise money for these children and the communities in which they live. During the next few weeks your son/daughter will bring home a sponsor form and some spellings to learn. Please make this venture a success by encouraging them to get sponsors and learn their spellings.
Any amount raised, however small, will make a huge difference to Rudi and Maguette.

News from the Child Protection Officer
The school will be launching a range of supportive projects for students around mental health this year, including an informative session for parents, led by an outside agency. Being a fully inclusive community we are launching an LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) group for students on Friday 23rd February, at lunchtime. This is intended to promote inclusion and acceptance, to enable new friends to be made and for the young people to feel confident about who they are. Please encourage your child to attend if you feel they would benefit from this group.
