London V&A Trip – Tuesday 28th November 2017
We are running the above trip for Year 10 GCSE Art students and Year 12 and 13 Art and Photography students. Spaces are limited so if your son/daughter would like to attend, please log on to ParentPay as soon as possible to secure a place on the trip. Please may we remind parents/carers wishing to check our term time dates to only check these on our school website https://www.helena-romanes.essex.sch.uk not via a website called termdates.co.uk as we have no connection with this site and the dates are incorrect. If you have any doubt at all about our term dates please do not hesitate to contact the school direct.

Year 11 students have just completed their maths mocks and will have an additional PiXL full GCSE exam after half term once feedback has been given from this one – dates to be announced.

Year 10 assessment week commences Monday 6th November; Year 8 assessment week commences on Monday 13th November and Year 9 assessment week commences on Monday 20th November.

Dates for your Diary
We have a number of Saturday morning Rugby fixtures coming up after half term:

• Saturday 11th November – Year 7,8 and 9 Away to Birchwood KO 9am (TBC)
• Saturday 2nd December – Year 7,8 and 9 Away to Joyce Frankland KO 9am (TBC)
• Saturday 16th December – Year 7,8 and 9 Away to Leventhorpe KO 9am (TBC)

Team sheets will go up on the PE noticeboard nearer the fixture dates and students will be notified at training the week before if they have been picked to play.

Do you work in the STEM Sector?
The school would love to hear from any parents/carers who work in the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics industry that may be willing to share some of their expertise with students particularly with respect to STEM careers and the opportunities available.

Essex Police Local Community Meeting – Change of Date
Last month we were asked to send out a flyer from Uttlesford District Council inviting parents to a local community policing meeting at the Dunmow Uttlesford Community Hub on Thursday 12th October. We have now been informed that the date has changed to Thursday 9th November 2017 at 7.00pm.
