Stranger Alert
A parent of an HRS student has made the school aware that their child experienced a suspicious approach from a 20-30 year-old male last Thursday evening in the Maltings estate in Dunmow.   He asked for the child’s name and where they were going.   This incident has been reported to the Police.   Please warn your children and ask them to be vigilant and where possible avoid walking alone.
Mr S Emberton – Assistant Headteacher/Lead Child Protection

Sports Day
The school Sports Day will be held on Monday 17th July and parents and carers are warmly invited to attend the event.

If you would like to join us, please arrive at the school from 1.30 p.m. onwards.   Parking will be available on the field adjacent to the staff car park.  There will be a sign-in desk in this area and for safeguarding reasons, it is imperative that you sign in upon arrival.   Please note this is the only available access for parents to attend Sports Day as you will not be permitted to access the field via any other entrance, including the Sports Centre.

Once you have signed in, please follow the signs and make your way to the visitor seating area.   Seating will be limited and you may wish to bring your own camping chair to ensure your comfort for the afternoon.   It is important that all visitors remain in the seating area until the last race is finished.

If you are planning to take your child home after the event, please ensure that you arrange to meet them in the visitor parking area and not at the front of the school. The event finishes at the end of the school day and the school buses will have arrived. Your departure from the school site may be slightly delayed until the buses have departed.

We hope that you are able to join us to celebrate the sporting achievements of our students and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Monday afternoon.
Miss N Hiscox – PE Teacher

Bus Passes
Please be aware that if your child gets on a school bus, they will need to come and collect their new bus pass from the Main Hall on the first day back in September.

All students in Years 7 and 8 should have/be handing in their French and Spanish text books this week.   It is our continued aim that each student has a text book in MFL but the cost of providing this takes a huge percentage of our budget.   Unfortunately, we will have to charge for books not returned.   The current cost of a replacement text book for French is £14.75 and for Spanish is £18.25.   Students have been issued a book with a specific number and have signed to say that they will look after that particular book.    Please make sure you hunt out your child’s text books and return them.

Thank you for your assistance.
