Thank you to everyone who has already responded to my email requesting feedback about the two-week October half-term. If you haven’t yet responded I would welcome your views, in particular the impact it has on your child’s learning. Please email your comments to my PA Ceri Weston at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A decision regarding next year’s term dates will be made at the Full Governing Body meeting on Tuesday 13th December 2016. I will then let you know the dates for the academic year 2017-18 before we break up for Christmas.

The English Faculty has organised a visit to ‘Poetry Live!’ at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. Students will have the opportunity to hear poets from the GCSE Anthology perform their work, take part in discussions on the meanings in the texts and hear advice from an AQA Examiner.
There are only 50 spaces available on the trip and these will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, in order of payment on ParentPay. The overall cost for this activity is £28. This includes transport and the entrance fee. Students will leave school by coach at 9am and will return to school at approximately 4pm.

Easter Ski Trip
Places are still available for the school ski trip to Austria during the first week of the Easter holiday. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop new skills and experience a new environment. The trip is aimed at students who have and have not skied before. As well as skiing we have a full programme of other activities.
