Year 11 French/Spanish
Year 11 French/Spanish students are currently preparing for a controlled conditions exam – Writing in French, Speaking in Spanish.  This process will last two weeks.  All students will have work to prepare at home.  With the mock results fresh in our minds, this is an opportunity to make a real difference to the final grade so please monitor/encourage your sons and daughters to do their best.  Thank you.

Year 10 GCSE RE Mock Exam
Year 10 GCSE students will be sitting their RE mock exam next week (B population on Thursday and A population on Friday). They will be sitting Unit 2 Religion and Life Issues. Teachers will be walking and talking students through the first half of the exam to assist students with exam technique and then students will complete the rest of the exam independently. We hope that Year 10 pupils will use these final few days to revise using the school provided revision guide so we can all be proud of their achievements.

Easter Ski Trip
Places are still available for the school ski trip to Austria during the first week of the Easter holiday.  This is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop new skills and experience a new environment.  The trip is aimed at students who have and have not skied before.  As well as skiing we have a full programme of other activities.

Important Diary Date
“The Dangers of Strangers in 2016”

We are pleased to announce that on Wednesday 16th November from 7pm – 9pm there will be a presentation in the school hall for parents and carers, presented by two highly acclaimed E-Safety Training leaders from CEOPS (Child Exploitation & Online Protection).  The presenters, often known as ‘the two Johns’ are experts in this field and lead the training of child protection-staff, teachers, parents and students across the country.

The E Safety experts will also be delivering sessions to all students during the day on the Monday 14th November and Tuesday 15th November and we are sure you will hear all about it from your children.

Please do not bring children to the parent sessions.

Further information is attached on the E-Safety Training flyer.

In order to help fund this vital training we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £1 per child payable via Parent Pay.  No child will be refused training because circumstances prevent payment.  The parent session is free of charge. The hall has a maximum capacity of 250 places so spaces are limited.

To register for a place on the parent session on Weds 16th November from 7pm-9pm please telephone 01371 872560 and speak to reception or e-mail mromain@hrs.education.  Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and are limited to three adults per family.

Thank you in anticipation for your support with the online safety of your children.
