Early School Closure – Friday 30th September 2016
As you will know each year we hold an Open Morning for parents who wish to apply for their children to enter Year 7.  This year the Open Morning will take place on Saturday 1st October 2016 from 9.30am – 1.00pm.

In order to enable members of staff to prepare for Open Morning we will be closing early on the afternoon of Friday 30th September 2016.  Lessons will finish at 1.25pm and school transport will leave the school by 1.40pm.  Food will be available for students at morning break.

Students invited to assist at the Open Morning need to collect a letter from the main office and get it signed by a parent. The slip must be returned to the school office by Friday 23rd September 2016.

World Challenge 2018
We are intending to launch a World Challenge trip to Peru for Year 10 and Year 12 students departing sometime around 16th July 2018.  There will be an assembly for Year 10 and 12 students on Thursday 22nd September and a Parents’ Information Evening at a date to be confirmed in the near future.

Modern Foreign Languages
All students who study French or Spanish (or both!) will have a yellow leaflet describing the Faculty’s expectations and homework arrangements stuck into the front of their exercise books.   Please can parents read and sign the leaflet.

School Shoes
Please may I remind parents that students must wear formal black shoes – no trainers, canvas plimsolls, mules or boots are allowed.  Vans, Converse and other types of casual footwear, regardless of colour or material are not considered formal and are not permitted.

There appears to be some confusion over the ‘English Replacement Books’ item on ParentPay.   Please note, this only needs to be paid if a book is lost by the student.   It does not need to be paid otherwise.

Flitch Green Buses
We are aware that the diverted buses coming from Flitch Green are causing some late attendance issues.  We are looking into this and will adjust marks accordingly.

Staff Vacancy – Administration Assistant

2 days per week (7½ hours per day) Tuesday and Wednesday 8.30am – 4.30pm term time only.  Band 2 Point 11-16.

Position required for 27th September start or as soon as possible after.   The deadline for replies is Wednesday 14th September with interviews being held on Monday 19th September.


  • To provide general administrative support to faculties and staff around the school including production of documents and reports.
  • Filing and copying
  • Displays, monitoring of resources
  • Phone/email correspondence with parents/students/staff/external suppliers.
  • A willingness to be First Aid trained is desirable.
