May I take this opportunity to welcome students back after our two-week half-term break; I hope they are feeling refreshed and ready for the second half of this term.
I am currently looking at the term and holiday dates for 2016-17 and would welcome your views about having had the two-week break for the October half-term. Please email your comments to my PA Ceri Weston at email@example.com.

Sixth Form Consultation Evening
The Sixth Form is hosting its annual Consultation Evening on Thursday 26th November from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. This will be an opportunity for Year 11 students and parents to meet subject teachers and discuss course choices. There will be a presentation by the Sixth Form leadership team in the main hall at 6.00pm to introduce the sixth form and talk about expectations and procedures upon entry to Year 12. This presentation will last approximately 30 minutes and will be repeated at 7.00pm.
We encourage all Year 11 students to attend in order to make an informed decision regarding their future.
Mr S Hector – Deputy Head of Sixth Form
As mentioned before half-term, Mandarin Club will be starting again soon.
This club will run on a Thursday after school from 3.30pm-4.30pm (start date to be confirmed). A small fee will be charged. The club is open to all ages and we have 30 places available which will be allocated on a ‘first come – first served’ basis. Students who have signed up already have been given a place.
No previous knowledge of Mandarin is required and it will be possible for students to sit an entry-level ABC qualification in Mandarin if interested in doing so. The teacher is part of the Essex Council Jiansgu Centre for Chinese studies and students will not only learn language but also culture and calligraphy.
If your son/daughter would like to attend, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 16th November and I will issue a letter to confirm their place.
