Year 5 Parents’ Evening – 7.00pm, Monday 30 June 2014

The evening is an opportunity for you to find out more about who we are.  I will discuss the merits of our school and demonstrate why we have become a school with an excellent academic record, a ‘good’ Ofsted report and an inclusive reputation.

Places are limited so please telephone 01371 878659 if you would like to attend.

The Helena Romanes School and Sixth Form Centre is a school I am proud to lead.  Our aim is to create a positive learning environment where every child feels that they belong to a community: an academic and cohesive learning community.  As your child begins their transition from primary school to secondary school, we recognise the importance of building a relationship with you and your child.  A crucial part of determining which school is right for your child is understanding what they need from a secondary school.  We offer a broad curriculum that engages the most avid of learners and with GCSE results that continue to rise; we are a ‘Good’ school, on the verge of outstanding.

During the evening, I will introduce you to the Deputy Headteacher, Margaret Ryan who is responsible for our Primary liaison.  The Year 5 Taster morning is the beginning of our transition programme that will include a range of events over the coming year culminating in the Year 6 Induction Days in July 2015.  Other staff involved with the transition from Primary School will be present as well as representatives from all subjects.  In addition, our Head Boy, Head Girl and prefects will welcome you to the school.  You will also have the opportunity to find out more information about applications to Secondary School in 2015, from our Admissions Secretary.
