Summer Music Concert
We would like to invite you to our Summer Music Concert on Thursday 17th July 2014 at 7.00pm in the main hall.  Tickets are available in advance via ParentPay at a cost of £5.00 per adult and £2.00 per child/concession to include refreshments.  Once payment is received, students will be able to collect tickets from the Music Faculty.

This is an excellent opportunity for students in Key Stage 3 to show you what they have been learning in class and for GCSE students to perform in a formal concert in front of a large audience.

We do hope that you will be able to support this event, which promises to be an enjoyable evening.
Mr P Charalambous – Head of Music

Lost Property
If your child thinks they have lost something at school, please send them to Student Reception to check in Lost Property.  Many items such as PE kits, clothing, pencil cases, trainers, glasses, keys, memory sticks and jewellery have been handed in.  Items remaining uncollected at the end of term will be disposed of appropriately.

Thank you.

Ski Trip – Friday March 27th to Saturday April 4th 2015
We are running a ski trip to a small Austrian village called Aurach, a few miles outside of Kitzbuhel during the first week of the Easter Holiday 2015.  The trip gives students an experience of excellent skiing, in addition, to enjoying the cobbled streets and atmosphere of the historic town of Kitzbuhel.

This is a resort we know very well having taken groups there for many years.  Once the skiing events for the day are over, we arrange a late afternoon and evening programme of activities, which include an exploration of Kitzbuhel, swimming, a quiz, a games competition, bowling, a Tyrolean Evening and a presentation evening.  All these activities are included in the price quoted.  This trip is aimed at students of all ski abilities.  Complete beginners will be offered the opportunity of a dry slope visit prior to the trip.

The cost of the trip is £890, which includes travel, ski school (6 days x 4 hours) and ski hire equipment in the resort and full winter sports insurance.  Clothing and dry slope lessons are not included.

Letters are available through Mr Graves in the ICT Faculty and payment is made through ParentPay.

Venturing into the Depths of the Unknown!
We currently have 230 books overdue from Years 7 to 12.  Could parents/carers please check that their children do not have an overdue book, even if this means entering your child’s bedroom!  The Learning Zone is a valuable resource to the whole school and we thank you for your support in this matter.

English Novels
Letters have gone out to students regarding English books that have not been returned.  Some books have been returned and some parents have very kindly responded to the letter.  However, the English Faculty still have a number of books outstanding, this will have an effect on next year when students may not be able to have a book to take home if not all books are returned.

If you received a letter and have not returned a book, please could you return the book to the English Office.

The books are:

  • Year  7 – ‘Holes’
  • Year  8 – ‘Hidden’ or ‘Noughts & Crosses’
  • Year  9 – ‘Martyn Pig’
  • Year 11 – ‘Of Mice & Men’/’Lord of the Flies’

Thank you.
