Peripatetic music lessons
Now that exam season is upon us, please ask your child to speak to their Music teacher regarding any lessons they might miss.  If teachers are given notice, they can re-arrange lesson times or carry them over to another week.  However, if a student fails to attend a Music lesson without giving any warning, then the lesson cost cannot be refunded.

A Message from the Designated Child Protection Co-ordinator
We have become aware of an instance of online grooming of a student in school.  This matter is being dealt with by police. There have also been further instances of students being sent pornographic material, some of it live stream video, and of requests being made to forward inappropriate material to unknown users.

Please make sure you are aware of all social networking sites and applications that your child uses and go through their contacts with them to ensure they have not added or chatted to anyone they do not know.  Please also be aware that some sites allow “private chat” without adding the person as a friend.  Such checks should be a regular activity and all settings on social networking sites or applications should be set at the highest privacy settings.  Usually a Google search such as “privacy settings for {name of app or website}” will provide instruction on how to do this.

As always we urge you to protect your children with appropriate parental controls on any device they use which has access to the internet.
Miss L Brammer – Designated Child Protection Co-ordinator
