Weekly Bulletin: 28 April – 2 May 2014

During the coming week, an outside company, Marketing Assistance, will be sending out questionnaires for our annual collection of feedback from students and parents.  They will email a questionnaire to all parents for whom we have an email address.  If we do not have an email address on record the company will post out a copy.

Marketing Assistance collects and summarises the questionnaires so that answers are confidential to the school.  Feedback from parents and students has a major impact on the improvement planning for the school.

We are asking students to complete their questionnaires during registration on Wednesday 30th April.

Thank you for your co-operation,
Mr S Knight – Headteacher

English Novels
Students in the following years need to hand in their English novels:

  • Year 7 – ‘Holes’
  • Year 8 – ‘Hidden’ or ‘Noughts & Crosses’
  • Year 9 – ‘Martyn Pig’

If your child has not yet handed in their novel, to their English Teacher, please ensure they do so as soon as possible.  Failure to do so will result in a letter being sent to students requesting payment to replace any missing books.

Year 11 English Literature Exam
Students in Year 11 who are taking the GCSE English Literature exam on the 20th May 2014 will need their texts (novels), ‘Of Mice and Men’ and ‘Lord of the Flies’, during the exam.  Failure to bring these books to the exam will result in students taking the exam without them.

Thank you for your co-operation,
