The DT Faculty is a successful faculty. In our purpose built block, we have two very well equipped workshops on the ground floor, and on the first floor two textiles rooms and two food rooms. We akso have an ICT room specifically for the delivery of Design and Technology.
ICT within Design and Technology is a strength of the Faculty. In addition to the ICT room we have a variety of laptops available in all teaching rooms. We also have a number of state of the art computer controlled devices with a wide variety of routers, plotters and sewing machines throughout the Faculty. We recently had installed a large bed laser cutter. They are used by all students from Year 7 through to Year 13.
At the end of Year 8 students can opt to take one of our Design Technology subjects through to GCSE. Despite being non-compulsory it is for many students a popular option choice, with many opting for one of our subjects.
The DT Faculty aims and objectives reflect closely those of the school community as a whole that puts learning central to everything that we stride to achieve.
