Physical Education is a key subject area across all three Key Stages. The school offers PE at GCSE and at A level which are both extremely popular choices. The Faculty also runs BTEC Sport Level 2 qualification at Key Stage 4 and Level 3 double award at Key Stage 5. The Faculty covers a wide range of the curriculum to accommodate all students and covers both indoor and outdoor activities. This provides students with a good understanding of a variety of sports. The Faculty offers a large number of extra-curricular activities which are very popular.
PE is an extremely popular choice for many of the students at the school with over 100 students studying the subject at either BTEC or GCSE. The 2013 pass rate of 94% at A*–C and 27% at A*-A which is well above the national average. The school also offers PE at A level and again the results are above the national average with the school obtaining 67% A*-C pass rate at A2 level and 100% pass rate at A/S level. These results show that PE is now becoming one of the most popular choices for the students and the PE department are proud of these results which are improving year by year.
