Weekly News Bulletin: 24 April 2017

Year 7 Sponsored Spell
It is with great pleasure that we can announce that the Year 7 students (with the help of their family and friends!) have raised more than £1,000 for our sponsored children in Guatemala and Senegal.   This really is a tremendous total – our best ever!  We would like to congratulate the students on their hard work, and the parents/carers and friends for their amazing generosity.   With the extra amount of money we will be looking to support something extra in these communities as well as for our sponsored children.

Year 7 Exams
Students will spend the first two weeks of this term revising and practising for their MFL exams in French and Spanish.  The exams will take place during weeks 3 and 4. Please ensure that your sons/daughters are spending a reasonable amount of time on their revision activities. Thank you!

Snapchat Warning
We have been made aware of a couple of instances of unknown contacts requesting nude images from students via Snapchat this week, following some grooming type behaviours.  This has been reported to police and to the parents of those involved.  Please continue to be vigilant with your daughters/sons internet use and report any concerns.  A parents’ guide to use of Snapchat is attached.  The thinkuknow and NSPCC websites also contain lots of useful video and information on e-safety.
