Religion, Philosophy and Life
Year 10 RPL full course GCSE students will be sitting their second mock on Thursday 16th March.  This will be the last opportunity to test out their exam skills and knowledge before their GCSE exams on 17th May and 23rd May.  We wish them good luck with their revision and look forward to some excellent results.

The Year 7 RPL competition has now been judged and the winners will be announced in Monday’s assembly.   We had some really excellent entries showing some amazing artistic talent along with some very interesting views on whether human beings have free will. Well done to the whole year group for taking part.

Parents/Carers of Students in Year 8
As part of the careers guidance and education programme we deliver at Helena Romanes your child will have access to Kudos, which is an online careers guidance and information computer program from CASCAID.

The students will be shown how to use this program during the next fortnight in their PSHEE lesson.

Kudos is accessible online and we are encouraging the use of it at home to involve parents with the important decisions your child has to make about their future options.

Kudos will help your child to assess their interests and skills, as well as letting them explore and research different education and career options, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future.

To access the program please visit www.cascaid.co.uk/login and click on the ‘Login or Register’ button, your child can then log in using the access details generated in their lesson.

All CASCAID programs come with a comprehensive range of support materials including the Parents’/Carers’ Guide to Careers Education & Guidance. This Guide will help you understand the options available to your child at each transition stage.

To view the Parents’ Guide please visit: www.cascaid.co.uk/support/products/kudos/getting-started/guides/.

Scroll to the bottom of the page to download the guide.

At Helena Romanes our aim is to ensure that all students have the resources to fully explore and research their future options in order to make informed choices. We hope that you find Kudos useful and informative.

POLICE MESSAGE
We know that many children are using social media when ‘officially’ they are too young to sign up to the sites – we know because they tell us!

Lots of them say that Mums and Dads have signed them up – sometimes years ago. There’s nothing illegal in that, but please keep in mind that if you signed your 8 year old up to Facebook five years ago, saying they were 13 years old – they now appear as an 18 year old on the site.

If an adult tries to groom your now 13 year old via social media, they will be able to argue that they thought they were talking to another adult. Remember to update their details, check their privacy settings, and talk to them about which pictures they use for their profile, so they’re safe online. Thank you.
