Open Morning
Last Saturday we held a very successful Open Morning with over 800 visitors coming through our doors.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the students and staff who gave up their time to help out at this event.  The students acted as excellent ambassadors and were a credit to our school.

U14 and U16 Netball
The U14 and U16 netball teams travelled to Notley High School on Wednesday 30th September to take part in the District stages of the National Schools’ Netball competition.   There were some highly fought, close games and excellent exhibition of team work.  Both teams narrowly lost one game, but will now go on to represent our District in the County stages on Sunday 15th November.  Congratulations to all of the players.

Information Evening – World Challenge trip to India – Summer 2016
We would like to invite parents/carers and students to an information evening about an exciting opportunity open to our current Year 11, 12 and 13 students.
We are in discussion with World Challenge about an expedition to India during the first two weeks of the summer holidays next year.  World Challenge is the leading provider of life-changing school expeditions.  Over 27 years’ of organising student trips abroad gives them the global reach, vision and resources to create bespoke educational programmes tailored to specific schools objectives.  They provide 24 hour Operational Support to teams and their expertise and high standards are reflected in their prestigious accreditations. Please use this link to view a sample itinerary: https://www.myworldchallenge.com/sampleitinerary.asp?id=2515&ch=a807dfb517f4f5cbc33a3084017d146e6052c7c1

The cost of the trip will be approximately £2,000. As a school we are very excited about the opportunity this will give students to do something really unique that will make them stand out from the crowd.  Participating students work together and take the lead to raise funds, plan their itinerary, set goals, and take on leadership roles – both before and during the expedition.  By taking charge, students walk away with key life and leadership skills which prepare them for life after school.

A representative from World Challenge will be holding an information evening on Tuesday 13th October at 6.30 p.m. in the school hall and we hope to see as many of you there as possible.  The meeting will last approximately 40 minutes and you will have the opportunity to hear all about the amazing challenges that your son/daughter will have the chance to experience.  You will also learn more about fundraising opportunities for participating students, the expedition and destination, safety and the support that World Challenge offer.

In order to gauge initial interest in this opportunity, I would be grateful if you could let me know if you plan to attend the meeting.
