Chinese Student Visit
The Chinese student visit was a great success.  The 35 Chinese students and five teachers settled comfortably into HRS school life and attended lessons with Year 8 students.  Each visiting student had an HRS buddy to look after them during their stay.

On Saturday 7th February, the Chinese children joined local families to gain an insight into British family life and were treated to trips to Duxford Imperial War Museum, bowling, shopping and sports fixtures.

On Monday 9th February HRS students were off timetable during Period 1 and heard all about Chinese school life and the Spring Festivals currently taking place in China.

All of the children really threw themselves into the whole experience and some good friendships have been made.

We are delighted to have received an invitation to visit their school in Beijing over the next two years.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
Once again we are collecting the Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers for our school.  The more vouchers we receive, the more equipment and experiences we will be able to get.  We would be very grateful if you could collect vouchers from now until 5th May 2015 at all Sainsbury’s stores, petrol stations and when ordering groceries online and ask your child to drop them off in the collection box in Student Reception.
Thank you for your support.

Year 11 Prom Quiz Night
Congratulations to the Quizzie Rascals who were the winning team at the Year 11 Prom Quiz Night last Friday.

The PTA worked alongside Mrs Curran, Director of Learning for Year 11, and her team on Friday 6th February to host a quiz night with all profits going towards the Year 11 Prom.  I am pleased to be able to report that an amazing profit of £887.61 was made from the event!  I am sure this donation by the PTA will help to make this year’s Prom a fantastic one!  Thank you to the PTA members Kate Hennessey, Kelly Brown and Jo Borland for all their hard work and thank you to Mrs Curran, Mrs McCabe, Mr Wilkins and the brilliant comperes Mr Cooke and Mr Fox!  The PTA was also grateful for the help provided by the Year 11 students who volunteered to help Richard from the Site Team to set up and clear away at the end of the evening.

The PTA plans to run this event every year now and to donate all profits to the Year 11 Prom.

Lost Wedding Ring
At the quiz night on Friday 6th February a men’s gold wedding ring was lost.  If found, please hand it in to our school reception as it is of great sentimental value.
Thank you.
