Primary children in Dunmow develop their sport skills at HRS

On Friday 24th January 120 Key Stage 1 children came to HRS.  They were coached by HRS Year 11 Sports Leaders experiencing for the first time badminton, tennis, squash and many different practices to develop their co-ordination and striking skills. This was co-ordinated by Jackie Coleman the School Games Organiser and Nick Widerspin the School Sports Co-Ordinator for the Great Dunmow schools. The children had an hour and a half of physical activity moving from station to station. The Primary schools that attended were Dunmow St Marys, Felsted, Stebbing and Thaxted.

This is just one of the many sporting opportunities that have been organised by the school sport partnership for the Primary Schools in Dunmow. On the Uttlesford Schools Sports Partnership (USSP) website parents and children are able to see all the opportunities that schools have in the year’s calendar. This was a new event and the feedback from parents, children and teachers was very enthusiastic with the children being thoroughly engrossed by the variety and opportunity given to them on that afternoon.
