Art experience for 1st Barnston Rainbows

Children as young as five spent time in class at The Helena Romanes School, in Parsonage Downs, Great Dunmow.

The little ones, members of the 1st Barnston Rainbows, took part in a paper marbling workshop organised by art teacher Holly Brown.

Learning support assistant Sue Sarjeant, who is also Rainbows leader, was joined by HRS students as the girls, aged up to seven, made Christmas wrapping paper.

She said: “We held the workshops to raise funds for the Philippines typhoon appeal.”

Year 7 and 8 students at HRS have also been making gifts from a marbling workshop being held at lunchtimes. The bookmarks, gift tags, sketch books, diaries and wrapping paper were sold to raise more funds for the typhoon appeal.
